Radiology
Imaging requests, reports and billing on one worklist.
OctoMediCare's radiology management software connects the referring doctor, the imaging team and billing. Each request arrives with its clinical indication and priority, and the radiologist's report returns to the patient's timeline.
- Requests with clinical indication and priority
- One radiology worklist for the department
- Radiologist report linked to the visit
- Images attached or opened in your DICOM viewer

The problem
Imaging is often the least connected part of the visit.
X-ray and ultrasound rooms frequently work from paper slips, separate files and phone calls.
-
Requests without context
The radiologist receives "chest X-ray" with no clinical question and has to call the referring doctor.
-
Reports that do not reach the chart
Printed or emailed reports are filed separately, so the next doctor cannot find them.
-
Unclear priorities
Without a shared worklist, urgent scans wait behind routine ones.
-
Scans performed but not charged
When radiology and billing keep separate records, studies slip through without being invoiced.
How it works
From request to report in the same patient record.
- 1
Doctor requests imaging
The referring doctor orders the study from the chart, adds the clinical indication and sets Routine, Urgent or STAT.
- 2
Patient joins the worklist
The request appears on the radiology worklist, and the patient is called when the room is ready.
- 3
Study performed
Staff mark the study as done and attach images, or link to an external DICOM viewer where supported.
- 4
Radiologist reports
The report is written against the request and appears in the patient's timeline for the referring doctor.
What you get
Radiology tools that keep the whole team informed.
-
Clinical indication on every request
Radiologists see why the study was ordered without having to chase the referring doctor.
-
Radiology worklist
A single list of pending, scanned and reported studies, with priorities visible to everyone.
-
Structured reporting
Radiologist reports are written and stored against the original request and visit.
-
Images and viewer links
Attach images to the study or open them in an external DICOM viewer, where your setup supports it.
-
Patient timeline
Reports sit in the patient's history next to consultations, lab results and prescriptions.
-
Radiology billing
Each completed study is linked to the patient's invoice and to insurance billing where it applies.
Why it matters
Better reports start with a better request.
When the clinical question travels with the request, radiologists can focus their report on what the doctor needs to know. The referring doctor reads it in the chart, not in an email inbox.
For managers, the worklist shows how many studies are waiting, scanned and reported, and every performed study is billed from the recorded request.
- Fewer calls between radiology and clinics
- Urgent studies visible at the top
- Reports kept in the patient's history
- Studies billed from the request itself

Frequently asked questions
Does the radiology management software replace our PACS?
No. OctoMediCare manages requests, the worklist, reports and billing. Images can be attached to the study or opened through a link to an external DICOM viewer where supported. We will review your current imaging setup in the demo.
Can doctors from other departments see radiology reports?
Yes. Reports appear in the patient's timeline, so any doctor with access to the patient can read them during a consultation.
Which imaging types can we manage?
The worklist handles requests for the studies your department offers, such as X-ray or ultrasound. We will set up the request list with you during the demo.
Can patients pay for imaging separately from the consultation?
Imaging charges are added to the patient's bill for the visit, and the payment desk can collect them by cash, KNET, Visa or insurance.
See your imaging department on one worklist.
We will walk a sample X-ray request from the doctor's chart to the radiologist report and the patient's bill.
